PROFILE
Combined ten years experience in elementary and middle school education and district technology coordination with Master’s Degrees in Education and Educational Technology. Recognized as a source for educators seeking technology consultation and curriculum development; awarded the 2008 Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL) Outstanding Technology Using Classroom Teacher (runner-up), multiple grants, and published articles on the use of technology in the classroom to further student learning. Proficient in Word, Excel, and iWork programs, along with Windows and Mac OS X environments.
Assisted in the realignment and yearly maintenance of curriculum for K-8 classrooms. Utilized hands-on and technology experiences to enhance student learning and create a differentiated learning environment in all subjects--increasing yearly standardized test scores. Additional learning opportunities were facilitated through poetry, writing, math clubs, and summer reading programs. By securing a MACUL Classroom Grant was able to utilize iPods within the classroom to assist low-level and uninterested readers in building their proficiency; later published an article in the MACUL Journal and presented on the success of the program at the organization’s annual conference. Secured additional grants, including Smarter Kids Foundation Grant, to fund classroom projects and materials.

Designed and maintained school and classroom websites, implemented staff email system, and created Moodle online courses for school district. Developed proposal securing school’s mobile Mac lab and Smart boards, along with providing professional development training for district staff in classroom implementation.
Eaton Rapids Science and Math Academy
Consultant/Instructor — 2009-Present
Co-designed and implemented collaborative project between Island City Academy and Eaton Rapids School District to provide an alternative, technology-focused learning environment for students from both districts.
